There's a surprise new car that has arrived at The Shmuseum! This is the new runabout Shmeemobile that I'm going to be driving in the coming months as a daily. For sure it's unexpected but let's get it revealed and go for a first drive to see what it's like! Welcome the new Abarth 500e Turismo Convertible! The new electric Abarth is a test car from Abarth UK that I will be running for the next couple of months as the daily to find out what this new sports mini-EV is like. This particular car is the fully-loaded Turismo specification in Poison Blue, and being a Convertible has the folding fabric soft top. In terms of powertrain we're talking 152hp and 235Nm with a 42.2kWh battery pack that claims a 150 mile range. Around a decade ago I owned an Abarth 595C Turismo Convertible, which I owed for just over 2 years and drove around 16,000 miles. It was always a very fun and exciting experience, and to bring that emotion to their new electric car, Abarth have introduced a Sound Generator that feels like the Record Monza system from the old generation with a combustion engine. After a quick walkaround, let's take the car out for a first drive in the countryside and talk about what it's like as a first experience.
