In a very short and sad Dev Chat today Aaron Keller and Jared Neuess explained that the PvE mode as we knew it for Overwatch 2 has been canceled. Skill trees and endlessly replayable gameplay is no more and instead there will Hero Missions and Hero Mastery levels as a much smaller version of the original vision. On a brighter note, a lot of PvP content is still planned and the Season 5, 6 and 7 Roadmap as it stands now has been released.
