The Ukrainian military has been provided with over $30 billion in military aid, elevating them to one of the most capable armies in the world. One of the most effective air defense systems used by the Ukrainians is the Nasams air defense system, which has been successful in thwarting Russian drones and air attacks. The system has been able to detect and track multiple targets at the same time, thanks to its advanced radar system, and has dual-use AMRAAM missiles that provide operational advantages and reduce costs. Nasams also has a 120 km radar tracking system and has proven to be interoperable with high altitude and longer-range systems such as Patriot. The Ukrainian air force recently announced that Nasams destroyed 100 Russian aircraft in five months. The Norwegian government has also announced plans to supply Ukraine with two complete Nasams firing units.
