Enough to make thrice for 2 to 3 people 1 cup Toor Dal 4 to 5 Dried Red Chillies 8 to 10 Curry Leaves 3 tbsp Coriander Seeds 2 tsp Cumin Seeds 1 tbsp Chana Dal 1 Lime sized ball of dry tamarind Salt , A Little Black Salt Jaggery is optional For Tadka 1 tbsp Oil 1/2 tsp Hing 1 tsp Mustard Seeds 10 to 12 Curry Leaves Few Whole Red Chillies For making the Sambar 2 tsp Oil 10 to 12 Shallots 1 Large Tomato 1 cup Veggies (I used pumpkin & drumsticks) 750 ml Water 3 big spoons of Sambar mix Some chopped Coriander You can adjust the salt as desired
