In this video, a rogue eagle intruder steals a fish from M15 at the north side of the pasture. The rogue eagle intruder landed in the attic branch and decided to eat the fish. The catch was so fresh that you could see the fish flapping and trying to escape the eagle's talons. The rogue eagle dropped down to the nest from the attic and continued to devour the prey. Harriet and M15's oldest offspring issued a few warning calls and took off towards the nest with the intention of recovering the fish. The intruder lifted its head and focused on the incoming juvenile. E21 continued to fly towards the nest, the determination of this valiant juvenile reflects the pool of genes that were passed down by M15 and Queen Harriet the eagle. As E21 approached the nest the intruder called twice, looked at the fish, secured the prey, then took off without hesitation. A second later, E21 arrived in full force. E22 was watching from a nearby perch and took off eyeing the nest. As E22 landed (or flushed E21) , the oldest sibling returned to the bachelor pad (the name is not official) perch on the north side of the pasture. The findings in this video are my personal opinions based on my observations. Please take my findings with a grain of salt! This video was recorded on Sunday, April 9 of 2023. At the time this footage was recorded, E21 was 95 days old and E22 was 92 days old. This is a public video. You may share it at your discretion. This footage is part of a series that was recorded after Hurricane Ian destroyed the main nest and Harriet's disappearance. Enjoy the video!
