There has not been an owl strike on the E's since April 14th but the owls are still in the area. E22 is sleeping on the nest and E21 is on the veranda. A large bird is seen first flying low from the east to the west - based on the size it looks like maybe an eagle. Then 20 minutes later an owl is seen from the front pines flying to the upper branches. E21 sees it and chirps - it does not stay long and flies off to the west pasture and E21 immediately takes off after it giving chase. It probably was one of the young owlets. E22 heard E21's soft vocals & watched E21 fly after the owl but did not get up. E21 did not return to the nest tree until early in the morning - flying to the attic and was welcomed back with E22's vocals! Thank you for watching!
