How I taught "paws" ⭐️ SAVE THIS POST for future reference Step 1: set up a short and sturdy platform, tap, and then lure your dog with a high-value treat - mark/reward when paws touch the platform Step 2: add the verbal cue "paws" Step 3: fade the lure Step 4: try different objects As with all new skills, it's essential to start with short training sessions (often less than 5 minutes) and to set your dog up for success. Reward for the slightest movement initially and progressively increase until your dog can do "paws" on all sorts of objects.
