We found this senior cat looking for help on a hot summer day. No one had ever seen him here before. You could feel every part of his spine. We named him Vern. Vern had been living with cancer for some time. We made a plan with our vet to slow the cancer’s progression while he could remain comfortable at home. Our only goal here was to give him a few months of the life he always deserved - one final chapter of good memories. This is called fospice - a foster hospice case, where very kind volunteers help a terminally ill animal live out the rest of their days with dignity, surrounded by love and comfort.
