Great to see Gylfie adding a third and fourth egg to her clutch. Barn owls usually lay a clutch of about 3 to 7 eggs, although 4 to 6 eggs is the most common range. Each egg is oval-shaped, pure white, and measures around 1.5 to 2 inches in size. The female carefully incubates the eggs, ensuring they receive consistent warmth for successful development. Each egg is laid 2-4 days apart and the female will incubate the eggs for around 30 to 34 days, with each egg hatching in the order that it was laid. During incubation the male supports the female by providing food for both her while she keeps the eggs warm. I build habitats to encourage wildlife into my garden and use nest cams to study their behaviour. These studies inform my paintings. I share the best of my video research on this channel for free.
