How I taught my dog to go back Step 1: place a large non-slip target on the ground, lure your dog so their back legs are on the target, place a treat on the ground, mark and repeat when your dog looks at you Step 2: repeat, but place the treat further away so your dog has to step forward, mark and reward when hind their legs return to the target Step 3: gradually increase the distance of the target Step 4: fade the treat and add your verbal cue "back" Why Teach Back: * Going in and out of doors * Waiting to cross a street * Improve strength and conditioning #goldenretriever #dogtraining #smile #happy #bffs
