Gigafactory Texas on 4 December 2023! Where Model Y’s and Cyber Truck production happens! It's back to work now that the Cybertruck Delivery Event has concluded and there are many new developments plus new information I learned to talk about today! I know everyone wants to know the Cybertruck production rate and I'd say it is a little too early to be able to make any meaningful initial assessments yet, so I will not be attempting to do so in this video. The biggest new development areas are on the west side of the highway, the south end of the main factory, the east multi-level garage construction site and the east sedimentation pond being constructed near the battery cathode plant. Timestamps: Drone flight overview with discussion & illustration: 0:06 to 1:44 Drone flight footage & infographics: 2:15 to 30:16 Some highlight to discuss today: The west side of the highway (aka West Support Facility) has several new developments to discuss! The southwest clearing and graded area has made significant progress erasing the last of the hills and ponds from the old sand and gravel mining, with a large area having had grade work that appears nearly finished and ready for the next phase of construction to begin. The material staging yard on the west side has many superchargers and supercharger concrete base slabs being prepared for installation, and in addition, 12 more plus electronic cabinetry to support superchargers are located on the east side waiting movement to this side of the highway. Altogether around 96 Superchargers will be installed (all appear to be V3 versions) in what appears to be a new construction area just to the south of the new EOL facility. I have also heard sometime in 2024 Tesla Semis' will begin to be used to transport new vehicles to the Tailor rail yard, and because of this, I also expect to see Mega chargers installed on this area as well. The outbound lot itself is now getting a large section paved in asphalt, and work to prepare another large section for paving is also apparent. We can now see the arrangement of the light posts on the lot emerging in the areas where the paving has been installed. As an interesting note, the Car Wow video review of the Cybertruck (and where it raced the Hummer EV) was filmed on the new north-to-south road here in the West Support Facility very near the newly paved outbound lot section! On the south end of the main factory, the extension work continues to see progress, with more footing construction now close to the southwest corner, the steel structure has grown both horizontally and vertically, now showing the second-floor basic configuration with roof line emerging that matches the Stamping 2 extension. This indicates again the new structure will be part of a contiguous roof, making it all appear as one large single structure. The east multi-level parking garage has now reached 7 (possibly 8) levels, including the ground floor, and is expanding to the east and the north. Stairwells are emerging too on the west side, while footing construction continues over the entire rest of the site. Some new concrete panels and columns have arrived on trailers and are temporarily staged nearby until installed. The new sedimentation basin near the battery cathode plant is taking shape, with a large pipe filtration system installed in the bottom middle section of the pond. On the north and the south ends, two concrete outfall channels are taking shape which will form the water inlets to the pond. The water outlet system is also taking shape, with two main outfall manifolds already installed and the trenches covered over.
