A balcony cabin, where the balcony is INSIDE the ship? It doesn't sound possible, but it is! I spent 7 days in a Celebrity Edge Infinite Veranda cabin, and here's what I thought. I’m currently on a cruise and I’m staying in a balcony cabin that has a feature that I’ve never seen on a cruise ship before. It’s very different from what you’d expect when you hear the word balcony and I’ve spent most of this week trying to work out why the cruise line made this decision. I’ve seen and done some things this week that I definitely didn’t expect when I booked this cruise and picked this cabin. Like quirky cabins? Check out these! My balcony opened onto the PROMENADE DECK: https://youtu.be/Sg9NynxWReM This cabin had a glass bathroom wall: https://youtu.be/EvhmoI-OJa8 The cheapest cabin on a MEGASHIP: https://youtu.be/mKHOhGD9Tp8 Usually when you look at cruise ship balcony cabins they are pretty similar, the designs do change between ships and the layout inside might change but the actual balcony space is pretty standard. It’s usually a rectangle of some size with two chairs on it, there’s not much that can be changed with that, maybe the addition of a table if you’re lucky. The ship that I’m currently onboard is the Celebrity Edge, built in 2018 she’s the first in Celebrities edge class of ships. She was game changing for Celebrity in lots of ways and the cabins are no exception. When I booked this cruise I decided to book what is called an Infinite Veranda cabin. There are 918 infinite verandas on this ship and they are 23% bigger than balcony cabins on other Celebrity ships. I usually am an inside cabin kind of girl but I do love a controversial cabin and as I had read lots of very good and very bad reviews about the cabin, I wanted to find out for myself if I would like it. One person described it as a ‘the best room they’ve ever stayed in’ but another person said that it was so bad that it ‘ruined their vacation beyond repair’. I did have somebody tell me recently though that their cruise was ruined by the library being too cold so I always try to take those reviews with a pinch of salt. The description of the cabin promised to ‘blur the boundary between inside and outside’ and that it definitely did. My cabin was assigned at the time of booking and I was given cabin 7156 towards the front of deck 7. Quite often cruise lines will give you a discount if you don’t pick your specific cabin location but Celebrity didn’t have any option for that so I just let my travel agent pick the cabin, I trusted her and in the past I’ve had cabins right at the top of the ship, right at the bottom, at the front, at the back, besides the atrium, under nightclubs, you name it I’ve probably tried it at some point because I am not fussy when it comes to cabin location. The cabin that I was assigned looked good cabin on paper, so I was feeling pretty optimistic and excited. I am on this cruise with my mum and I really hoped that the room would be a place where we could relax and watch a few sail aways together. ▶ Stay up to date: http://EmmaCruises.com/News ▶ Let's get you on a cruise!: https://EmmaCruises.com/Book-a-Cruise/ ▶ Set sail in style: https://EmmaCruisesShop.com *** ▶ Background World Map: Use code EMMACRUISES for 10% off - https://enjoythewood.com?sca_ref=2604048.KhjxUh5She (Affiliate link) ▶ Lamp: https://emmacruises.com/lamp ▶ Get Insurance: https://emmacruises.com/cruise-travel-insurance-why-you-need-it-and-how-to-get-it-step-by-step-guide/
