This World Pilots’ Day, we’re proud to present ‘License to fly’, a web series that sheds light on the fundamentals of being a pilot. Kickstarting the series with our first episode, The Take-off, is Captain Ashim Mittra, Senior Vice President, Flight Operations, at IndiGo. Captain Mittra started his journey as an aircraft maintenance engineer and worked his way up to the cockpit. With over 40 years of experience, Captain Mittra has been there, done that and is a mentor to budding, young and veteran pilots, alike. In the first episode, he breaks down what it takes to be a pilot – the passion and the patience; the mental and physical demands, and the attributes that make a successful pilot. From the myths and challenges that surround the life of a pilot – the educational qualifications, financials, and the eligibility criteria – to the industry dynamics and gender equality in aviation; this World Pilots’ Day embark on a new journey with ‘License to fly’. #WorldPilotsDay #goIndiGo #IndiaByIndiGo #Aviation #Pilot
