In 1923, the franchise for what is today the Sacramento Kings was founded in Rochester, New York as the Rochester Royals. The franchise would move to Cincinnati (1957) and Kansas City/Omaha (1972) before they found their home in Sacramento as the Kings in 1985. The Sacramento Kings celebrated 100 Years of Royalty on December 2nd at their home game at the Golden 1 Center against the Denver Nuggets. In the lead up to the game, the Kings teamed up with Jared and Howard at the Sacramento History Museum to print a special commemorative print recognizing the important cities and colors from Kings history. The artwork for the photo engraving was created by Kings staff and the cut for us to print was engraved by the OWOSSO Engraving Company. For this press run, a royal blue rubber base ink was used to print 100 prints that accompanied the first 100 City Edition jerseys that were sold at the December 2nd game. In this video, Howard shows inking of the press and printing copies recorded from different angles. These were printed using our 10x15 Chandler & Price Gordon-style jobbing press. #SacHistoryMuseum #sacramentokings #nba #basketball #blue #printmaking #typography #powerofthepress #SacHistoryMuseum #sacramento #museum #history #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing #youtubeshorts #youtube #shorts #short #shortvideo #oldsacramento #shortsvideo
